The planning phase and practical organization of an exhibition: relations with artists and galleries, transport, loans and insurance.
The course focuses on the various aspects of curatorship in the different phases of planning and producing an exhibition event. All of the phases in creating an exhibition project, from coming up with the idea to putting on the exhibition, will be examined through examples of case studies and documents. The course goes into the logistical and organizational issues linked to relations with the artists and the other partners involved, management of the works (loans, insurance and transport) and the exhibition space. Furthermore, it will analyse the curator’s specific activities as well as the activities of the professionals who work with and alongside the curator.
